Why Join OQAPA?

The Ontario Quasiturbine Application Promotion Association (OQAPA) was formed so that a wide range of people from various disciplines can come to gather to network, understand, collaborate and work on ideas and applications that use the Quasiturbine.

In order to achieve practical implementation of concepts, projects and applications that use the Quasiturbine, engineers and other professionals must be involved in order to evaluate processes which might utilize the Quasiturbine concept in their designs, either to replace another existing technology (such as a piston compressor in a heat pump or other device), or in an entirely new concept (such as a Stirling engine utilizing a Quasiturbine).

Members of OQAPA are people from a broad range of diciplines, including research, science, engineering, and marketing.  Our members include project development, capital investment, market research and trend analysis experts as well as executives, entrepreneurs, regulators, policymakers, manufacturers and various end-users who see a benefit in helping to contribute to the development of a uniquely Canadian engineering contribution which has the potential to help us reach the goal of Canadian and Global efficiency and pollution reduction with respect to power devices.

The development of this site is designed to be a collaborative effort.

Pages will be changed and updated as necessary whenever additional relevant information about general or specific applications become available.
This site will be associated with the Yahoo Group, which is designed as a forum where people will be able to participate in generating and debating ideas [similar a brainstorming session], find out what ideas have been produced in the past, which ideas may be most practically and economically applied and contribute to other practical aspects of project and product development.

OQAPA encourages the involvement of engineers and other technical researchers as well as professors, researchers and students at universities & colleges as well as private companies, research organizations and other research institutes who may have an interest in proving (or disproving) any of the Quasiturbine concepts or designs.

Members are encouraged to participate in discussions and get involved in order to come up with practical ideas, designs, drawings, formulae, estimations and actual projects that could be implemented by one or more research organizations or enterprises, however large or small.  Values and estimates for the efficiencies, costs and other viability considerations should be discussed, published and peer-reviewed by members. Discussions involving the regulatory, social, and/or behavioural implications of developing the applications and/or attempting to get these concepts and ideas accepted among the general public or or with policymakers are also acceptable subjects of discussion.

The emphasis of OQAPA be to involve universities and other research institutions in the evaluation of applications and will encourage full participation of the students and faculty of these institutions.  The primary focus will be on mechanical and other engineering disciplines during the early stages of application concept development.  Professors, graduate students and students teams as well as the research departments of public and private enterprizes are encouraged to use the resources on this web site to come up with interesting and useful ideas and concepts that might be researched and applied in the lab, in the factory or in the field.

If Ontario, Canada and the World is to reach the levels of efficiency and sustainability that are required to ensure the long-term viability of our ecosystems and economies -- which is what will provide our children with a future that is full, prosperous and hopeful -- it will be necessary to collaborate as widely as possible with regard to this research in order to prove (or disprove) all of the various Quasiturbine concepts.
