What follows are some
Specific Development Projects

for Quasiturbine applications.

 

These could become individual projects that a university, research institute or private industry might undertake in order to prove the Quasiturbine in real-world applications.

Applications in which there are potential benefits to using a Quasiturbine:

1. Renewable Energy & Biomass Sector:

3. Gas Pipeline Energy Recovery when used as an expansion valve:

5. Pneumatic engines:

  • Enable a "new" energy storage medium to be tapped in the form of pressure energy.

6. Steam engine and/or Pressure Reduction Station:

  • Dramatically increase the efficiency of steam turbines.
    • saturated steam engine
    • Hot water injection engine
    • Cold water injection engine (flash steam generator)
  • Efficiently utilize "waste" steam in industrial processes for Energy Recovery.
  • Use "low-grade" heat sources to generate power.
  • Effiently utilize energy sources that have variable rates of output and/or variable temperature gradients.

7. Pumps, Compressors and Turbines:

  • Replacing traditional pumps, compressors and turbines can make systems more efficient.
    • Particularly applicable in systems with
      • low flow rates or low pressures
      • variable flow rates
      • low temperature gradients

8. Stationary distributed energy production:

  • Small size, low weight, high energy density, simple design, low parts count and low maintenance can make every sort of distributed energy design cost effective.
